In Ecuador we have the preferred type of cocoa for the big companies in the world so they can make their chocolates with brands such as: Lindt, Godiva, Toblerone among others. The fine aroma cocoa or "Cacao Arriba" as we call it in our country, grows in the coastal area of Ecuador and in Mindo we can enjoy how they make handmade chocolate cuz in Ecuador only the famous company of Artisan Chocolat brand Pacari has bigs machines. Currently, Ecuador supplies more than half of the volume of fine or aroma cocoa traded in the world market, from the harvest of traditional and modern cocoa orchards of the National type. A total of 365 thousand hectares are planted, mostly in the hands of small producers. The supply of "Arriba" cocoa contributes to the development of the international market for fine or flavored cocoa. It is also an important source of income for the country. The country's annual production is 160,000 tons of fine cocoa. This covers 70% of the world supply of the "criollo" bean. This type of cocoa is used in all refined chocolates. However, what many do not know is that fine chocolate is distinguished by its purity, specifically, the flavor and fragrance that cocoa has, come discover the Ecuadorian cocoa with me.
