About the tour

On this tour, we're going to celebrate Easter traditions from around the world. I'll share traditions from around the US and other traditions shared by your favorite guides. Did you know that In the Czech Republic, there is a tradition of whipping each other with willow twigs to bring health? And that's only one of the surprising traditions. As a bonus, we'll make Amish Carrot Cake together! Amish Carrot Cake 2 cups flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 2 teaspoons cinnamon 2 cups sugar ¾ teaspoon salt 3 cups grated carrots 3 eggs 1 ½ vegetable oil Cream Cheese Icing 4 ounces cream cheese, softened ¼ cup butter softened ½ teaspoon vanilla 1 ½ - 2 cups powdered sugar Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cake ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix well and pour into a greased 13x9-inch pan. Bake 50 minutes. To make the icing, combine cream cheese, butter, and vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Continue to beat until light and fluffy. Serves 16-20. Esther Schlabach, Sarasota, Florida (from Simply Delicious Amish Cooking)
