What if you choose to get in a maze of streets, knowing you would easily be able to find your way out of it? Let’s explore one of the oldest districts in the city of Lisbon: Alfama. This delightful district of Lisbon is located on a hill, between the Castle of St. George district and the Tagus river estuary. Having kept most of its urban layout since the Moorish occupation back in the 8th to 12th centuries, through conquests, an earthquake and the touristic boom, it is now awaiting us to walk on its narrow cobbled streets. We will learn about its inhabitants along the centuries, traditions such as the feast of St. Anthony and about “bairrismo”, the proud feeling of belonging to a specific neighborhood.
Born and raised in Lisbon, I have very fond memories of my childhood and adult life here. I became a national licensed guide at the age of 22, after a degree in Tourist Guiding. I have had the chance to meet wonderful people from all over the world, and I was lucky to be able to travel abroad several times. I also worked as a tour manager mostly in Europe, and decided to settle down in my home city in 2017, becoming a full time local guide in Lisbon and surroundings, so I could learn even more about it and share it with you! I consider myself a storyteller that likes to weave the connections between history, people, heritage, nature and food. I am looking forward to welcoming here, whether virtually or in person! If you are coming to Lisbon soon, contact me for information on my private walking and minivan tours. Cheers!
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Lisbon with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Lisbon. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.

Excellent tour by Ines, who climbed uphill the streets of central Lisbon for us, while showing us murals and breathtaking views. Highly enjoyable. Thank you.
