The east coast of Canada is a special place. It's known for its beautiful landscapes, stunning views of the Atlantic, maritime landmarks and of course, its music. Musical traditions in eastern Canada were influenced heavily by the Scottish and Irish settlers that arrived there in the 18th and 19th centuries as a result of the Highland Clearances and the Great Irish Famine. Today, fiddles, bagpipes and bodhráns are still commonplace in eastern Canadian musical celebrations. An East Coast Kitchen Party, a popular tradition from Canada's east coast, brings together friends, family and neighbours for a rowdy musical gathering. What are you waiting for? Grab a drink and join Taryn for a 45 minute acoustic set straight from her living room. You can expect sea shanties, fiddle tunes and some of eastern Canada's most catchy sing-alongs.
Taking open mics by storm since 2010, Taryn is a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for entertaining. Combining her love of folk music with what she refers to as 'dad rock', Taryn will deliver a campfire singalong experience right to do your living room. While she's most often heard singing and banging away on a guitar, Taryn also plays the fiddle, banjo, ukulele, box drum and harmonica... sometimes all at once. Okay, not ALL at once, but pretty close. Think Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins. That's the vibe she's going for. Join this down-to-earth Canadian for an hour of acoustic chart toppers and classic sing-alongs!
