Listen to native Australian birds, like kookaburras and sulphur-crested cockatoos, settling for the night as we watch the sun set over a eucalypt-forest ringed lake. This is one of Sydney’s great hidden gems and the companion tour to my Sunrise over the South Pacific – less a tour and more a chance to enjoy a half hour of calm together.
Elizabeth is an American by birth, Australian by choice. She is a happy immigrant and resident of Sydney for nearly 21 years. Having been fascinated with Australia since she was 12, Elizabeth found that when she arrived in Sydney in 2000, she already knew more about her new home than many of the Australians she met. She finally put all that knowledge to work as a tour guide in 2019 – just in time to really fall in love with it before Covid hit. From the iconic sights that always take her breath away no matter how many times she’s seen them, like the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, to the little-known but beautiful corners of the city, Elizabeth loves exploring Sydney and showing it off to friends and guests. She lives in Manly, on Sydney’s northern beaches. She’s been very slowly blogging her way through all 84 of Sydney’s beaches and is working on a travel memoir about riding her bicycle around Europe.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Sydney with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Sydney. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Such a beautiful peaceful sunset tour...Absolutely loved the black swans! The water was so still, and it was lovely to take in all the sounds. Thank you so much, Elizabeth!

My second sunset visit to Manly Dam. Completely different this time but that's the great thing about a natural setting. Elizabeth's voice is very calming and it's nice to spend a short while just looking around the lake, watching the swans and geese

Mystic scenery. Gave me a peaceful start in the day. (Sunset in Manly means morning here...)
