About the tour

This tour is your chance to treat yourself to the best seat in Banff National Park and possibly the whole of Canada! This is your ticket to an unforgettable live experience as we'll hop together on the famous chairlift of Mount Norquay. As we ride high above Banff, we will soak up spectacular views of the park and the surrounding jagged peaks and keep an eye out for some of the more wild neighbors, among them black and grizzly bears, as well as bighorn sheep, elk, and deer. Come with me on this tour as we soar to nearly 7,000 feet and take in legendary, panoramic views or Mount Norquay as we glide above the clouds together. Fun and breathtaking views guaranteed!

Meet Pamela

Pamela has always loved the outdoors, and is fascinated by all aspects of the natural world. She worked at The University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and went on many field trips, which enhanced her knowledge of birds, animals, insects, frogs, geology, plants and trees. If not outdoors, her nose was always in a book, learning more about the world and it's fascinating places, animals and people. Since moving to Canada, Pamela immersed herself in this totally different environment. She loves to share this knowledge with other people to help them appreciate and understand what they see.

Not to plan due to the thunder and lightning, out of our guides control and safety first, but Pam took this in her stride, a history and discussion about the mountain and learnt about the via ferrata, how the mountains were formed and how controlled burns are used to manage the area, all in all a relaxing and informative tour with a guide who knows her subject, thank you xx

Because of the weather conditions Pamela was unable to do the full tour, she did get up the mountain in the chair lift but was stuck there due to the approaching storm closing the lift to get down ! Naturally the weather affected the picture, although Audio was ok, but Postcards were perfect ! Pamela quite rightly decided to stop the tour as there was thunder and lightening on the way and I hope she managed to get the chair lift back down the mountain and didn;t have to walk down !

Loved her tour as usual since she is so knowledgeable and engaging. I was glad to get her as my guide as I did yesterday for the Lk Louise walk.

Very brave of Pamela to take this tour up the mountain in stormy conditions. Despite the difficulty with reception there were some very good postcards.

Despite connection difficulties due to the weather, Pam still managed to give us an interesting tour with lots of information. It was not quite what she'd planned, so I look forward to a repeat of this tour in better weather.
