On May 13, 1888, Brazilian Princess Isabel of Bragança signed Imperial Law number 3,353. It was a simple law, contained just 18 words, it is one of the most important pieces of legislation in Brazilian history - The “Golden Law" (Lei Aurea) abolished slavery in all its forms. For 350 years, slavery was the heart of the Brazilian economy. We calculate that more than 40 percent of the 10 million enslaved African brought to the New World ended up in Brazil. Unfortunately the official history of Brazil erased some important facts in our history. More than 100 years Slavery was officially finished in the country. Can we really celebrate the "end" of Slavery in Brazil? Come to the tour and let's talk about it ...
My work is to make your days incredible in Bahia. I am Asian-Afro-Brazilian, born in Salvador in the 1970's and working as a tour guide since 2011, studied Law in Sao Paulo and Language Studies, but now I am 100% working as a tour guide. As an independent traveler, I understands the needs for a real and safe experience in my hometown. I love Brazil and I am blessed to live and work in Bahia. I try to work with tailor- made tours and make you feel home in Brazil, with the best tourist attractions but at the same time with the local experience. I will be happy to guide you in Portuguese, English or Spanish in Bahia. My tops tours tailor made are: Gastronomy Experience, Afro Heritage, Favela Tour, Reconcavo Baiano (01 hour from Salvador) and By night with PubCrawl

It was clear that Sayuri has studied because I learned some interesting things on this tour. It was very good. Thank you Sayuri!

I enjoyed your tour very much and found you utterly charming. I hope you were ok with my help with the pronouncing of the word culture: CAL-TURE. Everything else was easily understood. It was fun meeting your friends and listening to music. I'd like more history stories about slavery and the African religeon and influences. I'll come again.
