Odessa City Walk Part 5 - Odessa’s Old Town: The Journey into the City’s Fascinating Past
Ready to explore more of Odessa’s old town? On this live-streamed tour, we’ll walk along old tranquil streets of the city’s historic quarter and see off-the-beaten-path areas. We’ll stroll along the shortest street in the old town, which boasts all kinds of architectural styles and marvellous buildings. You’ll find out why a gothic-style castle was called the Sheikh’s palace and how oranges saved the young city. We’ll uncover the story of the “House with Atlases” and see one of the oldest remaining buildings in the city.
Of course, we’ll go into the old backyards. They are keyholes into Odessa’s past. They harbour everything from traces of the city legends to a forgotten well, the only source of so precious back then drinking water in that area. It’s old, vintage Odessa, full of character and off the beaten track passageways.
