The World's Largest Durians - Singapore Esplanade Arts Centre
Arguably the most iconic landmark in Singapore, The Esplanade, or Durian, as fondly called by Singaporeans, is Singapore's national performing arts centre. It is one of the busiest arts centres in the world, presenting 3,000 performances yearly. Opened in 2002, it has hosted more than 32 million patrons!
But it’s MORE than just one of the world’ BUSIEST Art Centres!
Did you know that the ENTIRE Esplanade sits on reclaimed land and that the concert hall is large enough to park the Concorde aircraft?
Most of all, I’ll share with you how the iconic spikes were included as an afterthought and are now hand cleaned by trained RATs!
Come and be enthralled by Singapore’s Theatres on the Bay, a premier performance space that has hosted high-profile events like the quintessential musical Les Misérables.
