This tour gives you a chance to discover the building where the greatest English dramatist, William Shakespeare, went to school.
The schoolroom is in the Guildhall, a real historic gem, and a place of business, ceremony, education and entertainment for 600 years. Beautifully preserved and restored, it contains rare and important medieval wall paintings, along with furniture that has been in the building since Shakespeare's time. Among other things, we will find out what school was like in the late 16th Century and how being in this location gave the young Shakespeare his first introduction to literature and theatre.
