The Downfall" (includes: former Ministry of Propaganda, Georg Elser Memorial, location of the New Chancellery, location of the "Führer Bunker", Holocaust Memorial)
This 45-minute tour will take you to locations and sites relevant to WWII and the Holocaust. Some of them were already featured on my "Tracing Evil" tour, this part, which you may refer to as "Part 2", focuses on the Nazi regime's downfall, starting with the site of the erstwhile Ministry of Propaganda where infamous Nazi-on-steroids, Joseph Goebbels, concocted the most vicious campaigns against all sorts of minorities, with the aim of getting rid of them by deportation and murder. Then, we'll see a memorial dedicated to a man of rare courage, Georg Elser, who - sadly unsuccessfully - tried to assassinate Hitler on the night of November 9, 1939. Next, we'll see the site of the New Chancellery, now gone, and good riddance! After that, we'll visit the site where Hitler and his vicious propaganda minister took the easy way out by killing themselves: the bunker. Or rather, what's left of it. Last on our tour is a visit to Berlin's Holocaust Memorial, a memorial the size of 2 football fields smack in the centre of town, dedicated to the more than 6m Jews murdered by the Nazis.
