Tromsø, The Paris of the North
Tromsø is the coolest city in Northern Norway. Home to a lively community of university students, fishermen, researchers, and anyone else brave enough to live in the Arctic, Tromsø is full of history. It is one of the few places in the north that wasn’t destroyed during World War II, so many of the 18th and 19th-century buildings from the height of Arctic trade are still standing. For Norwegians, Tromsø has a reputation for being a very fun place – cafes, bars, and trendy shops line the streets. You wouldn’t think Tromsø was 69 degrees north!
