Antiquing Through Rio's Downtown Street Market
Objects hold human stories behind them, being either through the people who owned them or through the people who make them.
I've tailored a fluid script of artisans' businesses' stories. A visit to the artisans' fair of the "Antique Rio" at the Lavradio Street, which completes 25 years of existence and refers to a century-old tradition of commerce in the Antique Trade Hub and Gastronomic circuit. The collection of antique pieces from all over the place is found in local establishments that open their doors to a gastronomic and cultural menu of activities. As we walk down the street the stalls display their colourful items in a mosaic of life that reveals personal stories in each item traded. The passion of its artisans is contagious as we reveal a little of these stories on a 1-hour walk through the fair. Expect a handful of art, crafts, design, antiques at the Old Town's cultural hub on a fun Saturday street fair.
Come with us on this fun walk every first Saturday of each month!
